The monochromatic colors, edgy hair, porcelain skin and the plethora of studs and spikes incorporated into each outfit. Kate Lanphear is the style director at US Elle magazine, and she’s a breath of fresh and grungy air — how oxymoronic — compared to other women in the fashion magazine industry. Her look has inspired many outfits for fashionistas all over the world; her incorporation of studs and spikes in every outfit is subdued, yet still makes a statement. Although she was born in the USA, her style is very Parisienne, which I adore.
She’s the epitome of effortless cool, always seeming to pull it all together with the perfect accessories. Chains, studs, and spikes are her favourite things to accessorize with, adding more character to her grungy and rocker-chic look. You would think that the amount of black and grey that she wears would become redundant and boring, but she never fails to impress a crowd.
As Tommy Ton from jak and jil has said before, “Move over, Ms. Moss… there’s a new Kate in town.”

“That’s bananas. She looks AH-mazing. She should be burned at the stake by villagers who don’t understand her gorgeous-ness. She’s shutting it down… oh my god. She’s killing it. She killed a family of 5.”
I die. Enough said.
The REAL Sasha Fierce, showing them how it’s done… take note, Beyonce.
Why break the bank for the Christopher Kane Gorilla dress, if you can pay 1/8th of the price for a Topshop x Christopher Kane dress? This collaboration’s collection is released next month, and recessionistas and fashionistas alike are already girding their loins for the opening day. The prices in the collection range from $90-$310, making the Croc — Kane didn’t use the primate family –dress accessible for ones who wouldn’t want to pay £1,620 — $2321,95 in USD — for the trendy Gorilla dress.

The Croc shirt, which retails for about $90, has to find its way into my closet. Somehow. Road trip to NYC, perhaps?

Somethings we don’t talk about, better do without, just hold a smile. We’re falling in and out of love, ashamed and proud of together all the while. You can never say never, why we don’t know when, time and time again, younger now than we were before. Don’t let me go. –The Fray
